Sometimes your day just turns out to be extraordinary . . . today was such a day!
My family and I are huge fans of the television show Suits so when we went to see the exhibit “Behind the Lens: A Look at the World of Suits” by Patrick J. Adams, a.k.a. Mike Ross, it was amazing to actually meet Patrick and speak with him at length about our shared passion for photography.
Patrick’s interest in picture-taking started when he was very young, growing up as the son of a journalist. As he told us, the whole house was fascinated with the concept of documentation and storytelling, but — where his father was drawn to words — he was drawn to images. When he started working on the Pilot for Suits, he was very aware of how short-lived a television series could be and he wanted to record every moment. These extraordinary photos wonderfully captured the human moments behind the scenes, of the popular stars and the all the other hard-working people that make the show possible. And now that the very popular series is entering its fourth season, the images have really started to pile up!
This great exhibit is at a temporary gallery, the PJA Gallery, at 402 West 13th Street this weekend. The proceeds from all sales go to Pavlov Shutterbugs, which helps children with cancer express themselves through photography.
Now my family and I are even bigger fans of Patrick J. Adams and Suits and we can’t wait to watch Mike Ross in the fourth season!
